Sex in colonial era and present

Colonial vs. Present era

http://ts1.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4707203814326680&w=182&h=188&c=7&rs=1&pid=1.7               Now here is a subject to discuss, how sex is different in the colonial times compared to now a days. First the time periods between these two eras are very dissimilar so many areas to both males and females are dissimilar as well. One thing I know is the twentieth century has invented rubber condoms that have a more durable and elastic protector to the male. Back in colonial times they used chemically treated linen and animal tissue, which is the bladder and intestines.[1] Another difference I know is today we have a pill called birth control that prevents a woman from being pregnant and there is also a patch you can wear that prevents as well. Back then they did not even know what the word “abortion” means and they did not have these new inventions. Also, I do believe that the birth rate was much higher in colonial times then today due to the lack of technology and improvements. In addition to the health care was not as advanced and they did not have the tools we have today for the babies’ safety. Furthermore, thinking back in the colonial times I am sure diseases were worse and the spread of sexual transmission was accessed easily due to lack of protection. Today people are a lot cleaner and their personal hygiene is much higher. In colonial times the fashion mainly consists of big dresses that tried to cover the majority of females’ body. I also think females are a lot hotter and sexier today and they have more freedom. One thing that has changed is the choice to wear clothing that shows more skin and less clothing. Now a day’s people are more open about the topic of sex and more people are informed. The young age groups are becoming more aware now, because of the social media. Television, computers, and phones were not thought of in colonial times, but that’s also not a bad thing for the colonials. The technology we live in today has a big impact on the age groups that view inappropriate sits on the internet, and watching advertisements, or the people that influence you too. A big difference between back then and now is couples were for absence and chastity in the old days. Now today the premarital sex rates have gone up and more people are becoming aware of sex.[2]
